A friend and I stopped by at the gorgeous Hotel Santo Mauro today for a nice cup of Earl Gray. I'd heard of this swish former palace on C/Zurbano before but had never seen it in person. Gorgeous!

You can't beat high tea at a swanky hotel. Reminds me of bailey's coffee at The Gresham in Dublin, and my friend Ben at the Dorchester, after the waitress had run through a comprehensive list of teas, asking if they had Builders Tea? "Err, that would be English Breakfast, Sir."
Have you heard of Hg2? It's my Little Black Book for Madrid (and for any other future city breaks I may take). www.hg2.com
I love going for a drink (tea or otherwise) at a nice hotel! Builder's tea...lol... I don't know hg2, but will check out the link as I'm always looking for somewhere new to indulge :-)
I'm a British-Sudanese girl living in Madrid. I work in marketing and I love interior design, architecture, writing, yoga, good food, travel and beautiful things. This blog is a rough chronicle of the stuff I like, do and think. I also touch upon the subject of happiness from time to time.
